AI in iGaming Research

This webinar presents the findings of a joint research report by The Playa and NEXT.io, based on a survey of 151 senior decision-makers across operators, platform providers and aggregators. Viktoriia Grygorenko and Gali Hartuv go beyond the charts to discuss where AI adoption is real, where it quietly stalls, and what separates the companies getting results from the ones still testing.

You will learn
  • Where AI/ML adoption actually sits by business area and company size
  • Why the largest operators — not the challengers — are leading the AI race in iGaming
  • Which player-facing use cases deliver measurable results, and the realistic uplift ranges behind them
  • What holds companies back when moving a use case from testing into production
Speakers
Broad adoption, shallow deployment
Four in five companies use AI in some form, but most of that sits in internal automation. The use cases closest to the player — segmentation, lobby, bonuses — are still under 20% deployment, and that gap is where the value is.
The leaders' advantage is organisational, not technical
Two years ahead doesn't mean better models. It means two years of structure, playbooks and absorbed failures. You can buy a model, but you can't buy the habit of acting on what it tells you.
Data and ownership come before build vs. buy
No model can work with data that doesn't exist, and a bought model with nobody accountable for the output just becomes another unused dashboard. Both questions need answering before you compare vendors.
A prediction nobody acts on costs you invisibly
Two thirds of the teams running churn models never act on the output. Define the action and the measurement before you build — an ignored model never throws an error, it just quietly loses players.
